Hello all,
New to R2R but felt like my story should be shared
I run a 60g long mixed reef tank with a fluval 307, 4 ai prime hds and a bubble Magnus qq3 skimmer.
Typical parameters are:
Salinity: 1.025
Temp: 78.5
Alk: 8
Nitrate: 2-5
Nitrite and Ammonia: 0
Phosphate is a little higher: .25
Mag: 1440
Cal: 380
I purchased vibrant 3 days ago to help me fight some gha algae I have had for 2 months. I pick it regularly but just wanted to finally get rid of it. Turns out this is the worst tank decision I’ve ever made.
My tank was healthy and doing well until I used vibrant. 48 hours after putting it in I had 3 euphyllia corals on the brink of death. Now 72 hours after, I have 4 euphyllia + another coral all dying and fear more is to come.
I will be doing a 20% water change tonight but wondering if anyone has any other recommendations to get it out ASAP. I dosed 5ml as I’m guessing I have about 50gal of actual water. Pictures of the tank and coral now below.
