Vibrant update ?

Hi guys I recently got some vibrant as I’d seen some good things about it and had a cyano outbreak that I couldn’t get rid of, anyway I came across the reef 2 reef thread about it and couldn’t believe it, does anybody know if it’s been sorted or shall I bin it haha ? Many thanks guys, p.s I have softies only tank.

The problem with shutting down threads like this is they never pop back up for people to read if no one can post to it then they disappear……,

According to the EPA website - searching using their tool - it states that in the zip code listed, there are no 'current violations'. Whatever that means I'm not sure. It is still available for sale on several websites. The website of its creator has not changed that I can see.

Just use Vibrant how you would use API Algaefix, since they are the same product essentially.

No need to bin it, but just know that it's an algaecide and use it accordingly, if at all.

UWC has yet to respond to any of this publicly.

Here’s what I posted today to the thread where the ingredients were analyzed, and where it was expected thst UWC was going to post their own analysis months ago.

Not opening the thread for discussion since there is no news, but just noting for folks that the epa inspection was 139 days ago. No word from UWC.

I am not familiar with these sorts of reports, but if it is interpreted that in May 2022 UWC became listed as a pesticide producer, that is extraordinarily noteworthy.

It says in the Evirofacts report that the data source is API. That pretty much seals it. If I had to guess I would say UWC never hid the fact they were using API's product in their bottles from any government agencies - just their customers.

It does not appear to be what UWC claims. Data clearly suggest it is an algaecide identical to Algaefix (see thread below) IMO, this as a very serious breach of trust from a company that has insisted it is not an algaecide. It is also a clear breach of the Reef2Reef terms of service (about...

Yes - that's why I posted it - but - also realize that a bacterial product would also be considered a pesticide. Again not igniting the debate just a comment that apparently no violations were found by the EPA in May 2022 according to my layman's interpretation.

Why do you think bacteria are regulated as pesticides?
