Hello, I have a few vinegar dosing questions:

1. Do you need a skimmer for vinegar dosing or is it unnecessary.
2. Can I use a UV to kill a bacteria bloom?
3. Will vinegar dosing damage or kill corals?
4. Will vinegar dosing lower Alk and pH?
5. How much vinegar do I dose? (16 gallon tank)
6. How effective is carbon dosing?

Thank you for any responses

Carbon dosing in smaller systems is tricky. A skimmer helps with export and aeration but if you have a lot of surface agitation, are doing large and frequent water changes, you might be able to get away without one. If you plan to carbon dose, start off with half the suggested dose and monitor your nutrients. You won’t see results as quickly but it’s a safer bet than stripping away too much and causing bigger problems in the long run.
