Anyone used these guys before? What was your experience? Looking at them for a wrasse currently!

Funny thing, I was just looking at this website. I was told they were credible. An old forum for 2009 said that they had diseased fish but I take that with a grain of salt because they have had time to improve.

VIolet sea aquarium?

It's local to me and well known in our reef club. Some tanks are overcrowded, but they just installed about 40 smaller tanks to separate the fish. They're more known for fish than corals.

They dont qt fish, but i qt them and theyre just fine.

No experience with their shipping method.

Beware buying any fish online from Violet Aquarium! I purchased a couple pairs of WYSIWYG clowns on 3/3. I received a shipment email with a UPS tracking number that looked suspicious. The tracking showed dropped off in Sunnyvale, CA and that was it. No updated tracking info and the fish never arrived. They won't return my calls or emails. This also happened to another friend locally who thousand $+ order arrived, was signed for, but UPS kept the box stating there was fraudulent activity on their account. Their store phone in non working and I've heard they're selling fish they don't actually have on hand.

I’ve used them multiple times for a wide variety of fish. All being shipped cross country. Never any or problems or issues.

I have used then for almost 2 years and have no complaints. I almost always order on the WYSIWYG page so I know what Im getting. I had a few DOAs which they gave me credits. I love the flash sales and almost always buy during those. Shipping has been fine to Orlando,FL.

Chiming in here, even though I know this thread is a bit older.

Chiming in here, even though I know this thread is a bit older.

I placed an order with Violet Aquariums over a week ago. They left me a voicemail to tell me they don't have the wrasse I ordered in stock, and it appears (based on a site search) they don't have the goby I ordered now either. They have my money, and are not responding to my emails for trades or refunds.
I'd do what I could with my CC company at this point.

fwiw, the only fish that have died on me came from this place.... and I'm local, they were not shipped.

They did get in touch quickly, but said they were sold out of twooo of the fish I ordered. Update: they sent my order… one fish they said was out of stock arrived. They said they were sending replacement for the mantis shrimp and they sent… my order minus the mantis shrimp, with one empty bag haha. Waiting on their response to my email about it now.

An empty bag is not an acceptable replacement. Hope you find resolution!

An update for me, I did get a refund for my order, but it took multiple emails and a very direct ask for a refund. My experience is that they are posting/selling animals that they don't have in stock or can't get in a timely manner.

Side note as a smaller issue, I have not been able to successfully unsubscribe from their marketing mails despite scrolling down to unsubscribe.

Chiming in here. Have been debating making an order. I've called them 3 different times to get videos of fish eating listed as WYSIWYG. All 3 times I've been shown different fish, being told the one I wanted to see isn't eating or is in quarantine or actually sold but is still listed on the site. I've asked to see 5 WYSIWYG fish those 3 times and am 0/5 being shown the fish listed on the site. The one fish (not WYSIWYG) I was shown had HLLE and when I text that I got no reply. I also said I don't care if the fish isn't eating just please send a video of it, and I got no reply. They clearly don't have the WYSIWYG fish in stock.

This is crazy, Ive ordered 3 wysiwyg fish from them and they all have been what was shown. Got a zebra eel, white eye moray, and a blue spot grouper from them. All healthy

This is crazy, Ive ordered 3 wysiwyg fish from them and they all have been what was shown. Got a zebra eel, white eye moray, and a blue spot grouper from them. All healthy

I could be totally unlucky, but my BS radar is going off too much to make an order. My assumption is they're using photos from a supplier and drop shipping them or something which is why you've had no issues. I'd post the messages but I think there's some law against that. My tank is a large fish only with very few huge/rare fish I treat like pets so WYSIWYG is very important to me so never being able to get confirmation I'm definitely getting that fish in the pic is a deal breaker.

Talk to the owner of the store and he confirmed that the pictures of the way you see what you get or taken over and Indonesia so there’s been a couple ones that have been labeled wrong and so I think that’s part of the problem. What you see is what you get cause I don’t think that they keep them straight when they ship over from Indonesia to the facility so I think that he just sends whichever one of that fish is in the store currently cause I can’t keep it straight. But yeah, if I had a extremely rare fish, which I kinda do now that I probably would not go with them again unless it was a heel cause heels are pretty they’re pretty hearty so

They are more of "what we want to send is what you get" and dont ask questions!
Got a juv angel from them last year thinking it was a deal.
Then comes the mystery after opening the bag- Lateral line disease and the fish was always in treatment for nourishment, recurring lymphos and bacterial infections often!
Was never healthy from getgo !they dont have the confidence in their own service to provide a good guarantee.
Would pay a few extra bucks to deal with other honest people having good husbandry of live animals.
