Viparspectra DIY mounts?

Anyone have simple minus for viparspectra 165. I'm trying to hang then from the back of the tank kinda like the more expensive lights. What's out there even if i have to buy and not build

You can make sturdy ones out of pvc

With some modification. The rms for ecotech x-30 should support the weight also

Since the ViparSpectra has the power supplies inside, the unit is a bit on the heavy side. I'm not sure I'd want to use the back glass for a mount.

However, the HMS Mount might be viable...although expensive. I have the VS 300 watt over an acrylic tank and might consider this option.

I have mine mounted in a canopy and resting on two galvanized and painted steel "L" rails. Hanging lights has been done to the point where every tank you see has them, which IMO makes it look cheaper.

I realize this is an old post. Do you have pics of your set up? I am considering the same. I ordered two of the viparspectras just no mounts for under the canopy.
