Anybody else get a piece of this yet? Wanted to see how other's frags have been faring and coloring up.

I normally don't jump on actinic shots of an acro but my buddy saw it in person and said it was amazing in regular lighting too so I took the chance and got a piece.

Here are Vivid's pictures of the acro:

When I first got it:

Now (daytime shot, not actinic)

Anybody else have one and want to share pics? Its starting to color in really nicely and look good without just actinics. I'll try to take an actinic only shot but my phone really has troubles with it. Might need to find a gel filter.

I seen that colony picture on FB and it looks absolutely stunning. I've seen it up for auction once or twice, so someone has it out there. Might ask on FB where the auctions were.

Thanks bud! I'm not really a facebook person sadly. Hopefully some people chime in on here.
you got it!
Yeah, pre-release. Had a buddy that was there in L.A. prior to him releasing the first frag a week later. I got lucky!

Frags from Brandon's is selling for a little over $400 per frag; they sell easily. He's auctioning one frag every week or two. I haven't really seen any grown colonies of it yet. I'm curious whether the Vivid one was grown from a frag of his, it looks similar. Dan from TCK has a similar colony that he has just recently started selling frags from.

If the colors and colony hold, it's a beautiful acro.

Thanks for the info. What's the TCK one called?

I went to Vivid and they have a huge colony in their 1000 gallon tank.

I also have a frag of it. It has a lot of colors and its one of the best I have seen. I was lucky to get a frag and was told it is hardy and a fast grower. I've had mine for about 3 months and it has fully encrusted at the base. I will post a pic soon.

Yes please! And next time you're there, any chance you could snap a picture of the colony? Hopefully under daylights?

Here's my frag at the moment. Lost nearly al of its color in the trip from CA to TX, but it's starting to come back now. Has some red on the tips that wasn't there originally. It's a crummy photo, I'll try and get a better one soon. Had it in my tank for nearly 2 months now.

I'm glad you reminded me how long we've had it now. Gig'em and I split a frag of it and now we have been observing how well it does in two different tanks.

$399 1/2in-3/4in frag. OUCH!!!!!!

Yeah, it was a tough purchase to swallow. I think the most expensive coral I had bought before this one was probably $75. Just jumping in head first! Haha.

Here's what it looks like now. iPhone is the worst.

You cut the original frag in half? If so, seems to be growing well for you!
Yeah, we're nuts to cut it in half but it was a decent sized frag. According to Vivid its a good grower and it seems like it. That's decent encrusting and growth already in the 2 months since we got it.

Went down to SoCal and visited Vivid. Saw this piece with my buddy and we each took a 1" piece home with us. From the shop to his place was a quick 30 minutes or so which shouldn't have been much stress at all. My trip back up north took longer and it was another 6 hours before it went into my tank. This sucker is sensitive and we ended both losing half of our frags. I knew it was bad when I opened my cup up and saw some of the polyps had actually bailed out from the drive. It STN and I had to use superglue to save whatever tissue was left on it, which is about 1/2".

It's still alive and a week shy of being in the tank for 2 months now. It has a lot of recovering and growing to do.
