VOIP phone people, got a question

We have been using vontage for about a year now. Sometimes we don't get our messages, they come like a day or 2 later sometimes a week later. Does anyone else have this problem?

Also i have been using my regular cordless phones. The only way to tell if there is a message is to pick up and hear that stupid beep beep thing. I know there are phones that will light up or something to let you know you have a voice mail using the voip mail. Can someone shed some light on that?

I have been using Vonage for about 5 years now. Are you talking about the email messages or the beep in the receiver?

Not sure how you could get Vonage to make your phone blink, however some of the newer phones might work. Mine only says voicemail when one is left on the built-in answering machine and it is a new phone system

with vonage i have to actually pick up the phone and listen for the beep beep thing.

Cable companies that bundle phone with their cable have different options so you can't really compare the two. Same basic technology, but otherwise very different. It's like comparing an Accord and a Camry. Yes, they are both cars, but they have very different options.

I do not use the vonage voice mail. it's easier to walk in my house and hit the messages button to listen to them than to call or wait on emails. Is it the emails that are taking a while to get to you?

You have to buy a phone that can detect the signal vonage sends to turn on the voice mail light. I have a multi phone system from Uniden that shows a VM light on each phone. Vonage is great. I wouldn't ever go back to a land line.

I've had VOIP and didn't really like it. #1 if the power goes out, so much for making a call, #2 the company I had it with sent me a bum adapter so the other person could hear me but I couldn't hear them. Kinda kills ya when it's your business line too. They're cheap, but I'm regretting going with VOIP.

So for you the Uniden phones worked. Are the voip phones or regular line phones?

contacting vonage is like talking to a wall. But that is the next step. They could careless
