Vortech master/slave and reef link

Just wondering if anyone runs their vortechs in master/slave mode and a reef link. After I set them into master/slave mode I can't control them using ecotech live through my reef link. Both the App and computer shows the RF is off. Could that be because they pumps are talking to each other and can't take any other connections? Just curious if anyone else has had this issue?
