Sooooooo. I have a few. I love em all so I am honestly looking at my tank every 2 hours or so, just cause everything is so awesome to me. Currently, I have three wall hammers, a branching hammer, three torches, three octospawn and three frogspawn...and other 'stuff'...favia, acans, palys, brains, etc. anyway, that's the background.
Yesterday, one of my walls closed up in the middle. It's about 3" across and the middle inch was affected. Totally closed up. Then the left started closing. It happened within an hour or two. It was happening so fast, I thought lights out for the hammer.
This morning I woke up, ad yup, the middle part looked wiped out. Now this evening, when the lights came on, it opened, the ends anyway, and it look like it is trying to separate or something. Really weird.
Params are all normal. Calcium was a little low at 420, but I dosed this evening. I listed my 'stuff' because nothing else is affected. I have LEDs and already went though a bout of burning some corals a few weeks back because of the intensity, but this was a new piece, acclimated properly and it came from LEDs. I bought two hammers at the same time. This one and another. The other is fine.
Again, it looks really weird now, like its splitting. Check out the pics....first is yesterday, second today.
