Hey all,

So I bought this small colony of Walt Disney really cheap from my local LFS because they said it just wouldn't color up. About a month after bringing it home, the polyps were extended and it started showing more purple (see photo from Sept 2022). Since around the beginning of 2023 the growth has really come to a halt and it lost all of its purple and is mostly yellow and green now. All other SPS in the tank are doing very well and exploding with growth except this piece. I was considering dipping it because I assume there is something that's bothering it but would love input from people with experience.

Parameters:
Alk: 8.11 dKh
Calcium: 464 ppm
Mag: 1409 ppm
Nitrate: ~10ppm
Phosphate: 0.05ppm
pH: Peaks at about 8.4 and bottoms out at about 8.2 at night. Walt Disney Day 1 Aug 2022.jpg Walt Disney Sept 2022.jpg Walt Disney Today Aug 2023.jpg

Looks like it might need more light? What's your current par in that area?
I agree, I would check the PAR. We generally find our WD colonies color up best at 400-600 PAR with the best coloration on the high end of that. It looks like there is not much PE also. If it's possible to pull it and dip it, I would do that in 1 gallon of tank water with 2 Tbs of KCL for 7 minutes.

Between 250-300. Running the Reef Breeders Photon V2+ 48 at 70%
You can definitely bump that up or move the WD to a higher PAR area. I would still recommend dipping if possible.

Any KCl or do you have one you'd recommend?
