Its doing well then. The bigger its getting the more growth at can achieve. It looks like it has some branches forming as well
 
What you’ve got here is a bad case of SPS. It just grows at the pace it wants and then just decides to take off. It looks happy and healthy.

My advice is to take a six month nap and then look at it again.
 
It’s looking beautiful! You will always see a considerable amount of puddling out before it’s satisfied with its foundation and decides to reach up. Mine almost covered a full 2” disk before it branched.
 
Some corals grow slow for no known reason.
It looks great so keep doing what you have done and in time it will go vertical.
Souds like my green slimer that based out for a year befor going vertical.
My WD was smaller than yours and a year later it has grown to this. It gets alot of flow in my tank.
