Want to see our local club start back up

I think there are several in the area that would like to see the local club be active again. If I can get my wife to make a poster for this I will put one up at the two LFS. If any of you know others that may not know about the local club please send them a link. I am willing to host a or the first meeting & have plenty room & parking.

I have a 18" cube tank cycling & two small tank that I will move all the live stock into when the cube is ready. I also have a very large paludarium you may like to see.

What do you think about getting the club active again? Any ideas how to get the word out? I ask Rev to contact all the locals via this forum but not sure if he did or not.

Of course I an interested! Normally I check the forums almost everyday but we just bought a house and have been without internet. Already got the wall where a big tank is planned.

My husband and I are fairly new to this hobby and we would love to participate in a local club! We have a 29gal reef tank that has been up for about 6 months. My dad has had awesome reef tanks most of my life, but my family is in FL...it's be awesome to connect with some locals!

I grew up in Daytona Beach & had saltwater fish in the late 60s. The hobby has come a long long way!

I'm sorry to say it doesn't look like there is much to join with. Not sure if any more than a hand full will ever be interested. When you get here if you have any question about the area PM & I'll answer what ever I can.

I concur. Hardest part is just finding someone to regularly host. Even the meetings we had a year or two ago were fairly well attended, even if we didn't have a lot of the original crowd.

yes! I'm down...I don't mind sharing the responsibility of hosting meetings. I am about 25 mins from downtown though. Anyway, I think it'd be fun and I would love to learn from everybody...I'm pretty new at this still.

For some reason I just got notice of a reply to this thread today.

We can have a meeting here pretty much any time. We have plenty of parking & other things spouses and or kids could do if not interested in aquarium stuff. Here is just off hwy 111 between Soddy & Dunlap. So there is an offer just need some people to say they would like that & set a date.

Maybe we should do something like a meet and greet at a LFS or just a lunch at a restaurant and hash out things from there? I think there are only a very small set of veteran members that are going to show any interest.
