Looking at upgrading to LEDs

I have been looking to upgrade lights for a long time now. From all my research LEDs seem like the best way to go. I am sure there are mixed opinions but they seem to be doing better than HQIs and T5HOs in many applications. Can anyone comment of this first hand? Can someone who is running LEDs fill me in on how good they really are? I have been looking at the Evolution 100w 3G, does anyone have experience with this fixture? I am looking to light my 90gal reef with two of them. Thoughts? I have also seen that I can buy a DIY kit and save a good but I am very leery to dive in that deep having never done DIY lighting before, so the specs I am seeing aren't meaning much to me.
