Water change

I set up my salt water tank five weeks ago. The cycling took two weeks and then I added two clown fish and 1 fairy wrasse. I have not changed the water for the last five weeks because my nitrates are at 5 ppm and my phosphates are zero should I change the water since it been already five weeks with the same water.

I found my wrasse hiding today and didn’t even wanted to come out to eat. I’m worry the water might be an issue??

If it’s just fish in there, the water changes aren’t as needed, especially if you have those parameters and the salinity is on point

The wrasse is probably scared or distressed by something else.

I have a small Duncan and two tiny zoas as well.

You can probably feed a bit more.

Alk will be important to keep up with your Duncans

Do you have a test kits for alk & calcium? Unless those are low there is no reason to water change yet.

Fish only need ammonia in check, pH and Salinity. Other numbers don’t matter. Wrasse is stressed out that is all.
