Would one check the parameters between the weekly water change or just prior to or right after the change?You should check the water parameters weekly and make fine adjustments to the foundation elements (calcium magnesium alkalinity) as required, ideally daily with an auto doser once you get everything set up so you can maintain stability. Stability is the key especially for corals.
I haven’t tested for ammonia since my tank was established, or nitrite, but if your unsure include these as well as pH, salinity, magnesium, calcium, alkalinity, Nitrate and phosphate
Also make sure salinity is kept stable with an auto top off system if you don’t yet have one
