Hey guys,

Here is my new tank build using the 90/10 method!

75 gallon mixed reef tank

I plan to document the whole process.

But for now my next process is setting the biome up with sand from Tampa Bay Saltwater!

I am also quarantining a paired set of clownfish to be ready once the biome cycle is ready.

We got 2 frostbite mocha clownfish. I love the puzzle piece patterns so their names are Jig and Saw 🤣

Those are good-looking clowns! I always like the unique look of clowns outside of the typical ocellaris clown!

Good afternoon!

Sorry it’s been a while!

I was going to post every 3 months but had a bit of a scare but we are past that now.

Alright for updates around January during our companies year end I was so tired and stressed that I accidentally dosed copper to tank. I had built up a lot of different cheaper coral types.

Everything was hurt by the dosing I lost my first and only (at the time) acro. And my 2 montiporas went bleach white. The rest of my corals were severely stressed but turned out mostly fine.

I dosed cuprisorb and did 2 50% water changes back to back to get the copper out.

Now here is the plus of my system. The 90/10 method is a beast. The bio diversity in the tank though it took a hit recovered within a month. I had a mild spike in algae and the tank looked a little rough. But little by little it healed. My montis are all back and redder than before. I am seeing new growth and new heads on the lps. And insane color deepening from them.

My tank is truly thriving and it is the first time I have had this happen.

I added the protein skimmer Bubble Magus in March. And the refugium I added pretty early on. I added a go reactor in November. Basically I always added in order to solve a problem but never before I had to.

I am now adjusting from weekly 10% to monthly 30% it’s not much different but my reef has so much export that I don’t really need to do much more than that.

I test weekly and dose using the serious reefs recommended triton core 7. Currently still manually dosing until I find an equilibrium, but for now I test and then adjust. I am so excited to have to dose for once. This is very new for me, but I find the triton additives to be the simplest and overall very cost effective.

So here are some pics and I will post a stock list next!

I cannot recommend the 90/10 enough!
