Is there a reason most of all the mixing stations I see use vertical cylindrical water storage containers over something like this water storage tote? I understand space when talking about cylindrical vertical versus horizontal. But stacking two of these square totes would use less space, be more structurally sound and hold more water. Is there something I do not quite understand? Price wise there is no comparison.

Size. Those plastics totes with cages are very large. If I had the room i’d Use them again. I’ve used the, as rain water catchers before

Well I have some one selling them locally for $50 each. And I was just wondering if there was a specific reason cause I’d rather not spend 200+ $ on one container

Yes, b/c they are easier to work with in my personal opinion. I have installed a 50 gallon mixing station in my garage for my SCA150~ i HAVE A Reef Octo VariouS6 Controllable RETURN PUMP and running it to transfer water to the other barrell and mixing my salt in the saltwater barrel.. Then I have hooked up to my BRS 6 stage RODI WITH a booster pump and a dual membrane upgrade so I can produce up to 150 gallons per day if need to be....
Also, I am in the process of recurring around 100 lbs of old school Marshall Island and Tonga Branch live rock for the new build in the Brute 44 gallon garbage can that's reef safe..
