5/18/2020 Test Results - 7 PM

Temp - 77.6
Salinity - 1.024
PH- 7.8
Nitrites - 0.2
Nitrate - 5
Ammonia - 0.0

Just curious... Why are you running your tank at that temp and salinity? Always interested to hear why people choose certain parameters. :) Looking good! What's your PO4?

Well I just got it today. And as we just gave up the lights, I can't even cut it to size yet cause I don't know where and what size light mounts I'm going to need to cut to size for.

I highly recommend the AI Hydra 32's. We're having amazing growth with our corals and have only had the tank up and running for 4 months.

I'll be honest I don't really like AI. Pretty sure I'm just going to go with the ATI Sunpower T5's. Once I get my refund that is.

I've always ran my Salinity at 1.023-1.026, I usually try to match it to wherever I'm getting livestock, so that way when I do the accilimation its alot quicker and easier.

As far as the temp goes, 78 is like the standard that I've always seen, I go anywhere from 76-80 degrees usually. I'm still dialing everything in and making small changes at a time, just these happen to be where Im at right now. Which to be honest, is where I'm happy with them anyways so I probably won't change anything in regards to Salinity or Temp

Excellent choice, only because I run one on my 120 and 1 on my 45 frag/lagoon system lol.

Yea I know T5's are tried and trued. Literally the only reason I didn't get it to begin with, was because I didn't want to hang it, but think Im just relegated to doing that now lol

If you had a rim you could do this like I did. It sits on t-slot with a door slider as it slides back out of the way 4" off the surface. All the light goes into the tank.

I hang my other above the frag/lagoon.

Well I did a thing.....about a week or 2 before I planned. But I couldn’t pass this up. Just means my planned Yellow Tang for next month is now pushed 2 months.

A local gentleman had some beautiful longfin clowns, big ones. As I didn’t get a bonded pair with Steve, I grabbed them up. Gotta say I’m more than a little worried they may kill him. The size difference is enormous. These guys are like 2” and he’s barely an inch.

So far so good though, they are all hanging in the same corner peacefully for about 20 min now. They immediately ate the fancy pellets I put in the tank. And they are pigs, omg had to feed 4x what I have been for just Steve. Only fed more when they ate the rest.

I will probably end up putting Steve in the Nano. For now let’s hope he survives until the nano is ready. Worst comes to worst I have a big trash can full of saltwater and a heater and power head ready for him if needed

Oh man I'm super happy and nervous. I FINALLY found Photon V2 32 in stock. Never ordered from this website so abit nervous, but Marineandreef.com? They had it, $589 for total price of lighting whereas when I was looking at doing T5's alone it was going to be $800+ with bulbs. And any other LEDs with mounting $800+. And I've only heard good things about the Photon V2 Fixture. This also gave me room to order my new BioCube 16 LED :)

5/23/2020 Tests - 2pm

Temp - 78.1
Salinity - 1.024
PH - 7.8
Nitrites - .5
Nitrates - 10
Ammonia 0.0

New additions are now named Ben & Jerry. They are hanging out with Steve pretty well. Maybe I've got a Trio? Way to early to tell though, I've seen no aggression so far even during feedings.

Well cancelled the BioCube 16 LED new order. Because I found a BioCube 16 LED AND a Waterbox 10 Cube for $140 today. Took 8 hours of driving total and $20 worth of gas, but they are in perfect shape. Just have no idea what to do with TWO Nano's Lol. Was only planning on having 1. Now to figure out Which 1 and what to do with the other one.

Email from Marineandreef.com just now.....

Hello Daniel,

Thanks for reaching out to us about that, we'll cancel the BioCube. Concerning the Reef Breeders Photon 32-V2+ 32" unfortunately the manufacturer is out of stock of those light. It may be quite some time before we receive more so we've canceled the order and have issued a full refund to your card. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Regards,

John

Finally got something to protect Steve from himself! Came in everyday praying he didn't like to surf

Sweet build! Sorry to hear about the light...

I am building the same tank - WB 100.3, started in February - i've been covering mine with eggcrate at night and so far the only adventurers have been a couple Nerite's. Im wondering if you like this solution or if you've installed it yet?

Keep up the great work with the build!
