he was getting picked on constantly, so i decided to grab another one instead of risking the little fellas life. might have to give him away at this point.

I like to bounce around a little bit, mostly lifestyle bundoora (my local) but natures aquarium, deer park, williamstown and galleria are all very good stores.
I've been to all of those aside from bundoora and deerpark. Have you been to Aquaristic Aquamarine in Doncaster? Kinda close to nature, definitely the best SPS collection I've seen and a ton of other stuff. Would love to get out to deerpark sometime but it's a ways away for me.

Where’d you get your cooling fans? I’m from cairns so probably gonna need to get some for summer.

haven’t bought one yet, but i’m looking to grab the one pictured. have used them before on larger tanks, they do enough to keep it down 2-3°C.

ah yep, that was my first one. it was a good quality foodsafe sistema container from COLES, but it’s only 4 or 5 liters.
Ahh ok, how did you set the 10l up? Does the ato pump fit into the tank or did you have to modify the hole?

Week 10 -

Heaps happening between now and my last post.

After reading a lot of info about building a diverse bio filter/ bacteria in a tank that has been started with dry rock and bare bottom, i decided to pull the trigger on
a bunch of corals from a bunch of different LFS, i still dipped the coral for pests but i’m hoping some of the good stuff made in through.

so far corals added :

-Duncan coral 10heads
-2 x cynarina corals (1pink, 1brown/green)
-4 x scoly
-1 x elegance
-1 x galaxea (test coral)

Diatoms have started and they came hard and fast, may add more copepods to deal with this.

Testing alk, cal and mag using red sea testing equipment. I will do weekly testing to work out a dosing schedule, but since the diatoms started my nitrates have dropped to 3.1ppm and phos to 0.0, i plan on bumping up my feedings to 2 or 3 feeds a day to make sure these don’t bottom out.

Started a ghetto baby brine shrimp hatchery nothing special but works well, using upside down 2litre bottles, air pumps/ tube and bbs eggs from aquatic live foods. First hatch went well, i had them outside so it had a longer than normal hatch time but still a very good hatch rate.

Photos of this set up hopefully in my next update/post.

Love you tank! I have roughly the same setup w a 15 gallon and kraken lid. I noticed you had a Nero 3 (I think) in one of the earlier pics. How are you getting that to fit with the lid? Did you get it specially cut?
