So kind of on a whim I ended up with a 25G Peninsula tank and no real idea for what I want to do with it 100 percent yet… built the rock structure and placed the tank/stand last night will post photos of placement later on.. I was thinking originally I could do an easy coral only tank with fast growing tried and true corals.. possibly aggressive corals I don’t want in my main tank like pectina and galaxea.. or maybe even take a jab at a more natural ecosystem.. with macro algae and whatnot.. just want it to be something different from what I have going on in my mixed reef. More to come of course kind of spitballing right now.. but as it stands currently the setup consists of this:

25G Waterbox AIO Peninsula/Stand
21” AI Blade w/ risers
AI Orbit 2
Tunze Osmolator 3 Nano ATO
Ink Bird w/ Dual 100w titanium BRS heaters
Sicce syncra 1.0 Return
VCA Random Flow Generator nozzles
Ecotech Versa pump for future use

Here’s a shot of the rock work I got going on it so far

Ended up adding another rock to that right end as I felt it looked kind of off. Will post update later tonight when I add sand and fill to start the cycle. 🤘

True was thinking about that. Zoas and some mushrooms maybe some firework cloves… anthelia etc
That would work if you want some more movement corals. The mushrooms will hold their own against the spread as well. I have a green mushroom surrounded by GSP. Its winning against them that's for sure.

Yeah I do want a bit of movement, I’ve got a frag of Hollywood stunner I’ll likely put in there also. Trying to keep this tank as simple as possible. If I need to dose I’ll just do AFR. First fish will be a possum wrasse… not sure what else will go in the tank. Feel like this things going to end up being a kitchen sink type deal haha

Finally got some time off so I could set this tank up today, making water for it as I post this.. tried to make the wiring nice and neat, have a bit more work to do on the inside.. as for the plan of the tank also kind of tossing the idea around of keeping Nem’s in this.. but I’d need to run it for a while and mature it before then so we will see..

Little status update on my plans for this 25G tank, have decided to try and do a mangrove in this tank and maybe a Seahorse as the wife wants one. Not entirely sure about the seahorse yet but we will see. Starting to research mangroves in reef tanks and might add some more rock to the tank maybe exposed. And plan to have a canopy that would cover the AI blade from the top lighting the mangrove with another light from above. Which would take time but I think it would be fun.

Okay so I scrapped the idea of a Seahorse due to Dwarf’s being a bit high maintenance and I don’t want to deal with that for this tank. Mangrove MIGHT still happen but i decided I’ll wait for the tank to mature a bit more and add a BTA as I’ve always wanted a nem but don’t want it in my main DT for obvious reasons.. I am adding a Maroon clownfish to the tank soon and will wait it out until it’s time for the BTA. Will post a photo of the Murder Machine as google described it when he/she is added to the tank lol. Final plan I swear! 🙄

Got this BTA yesterday, sitting in my larger tank for the mean time. Anyone see’s this that knows more about nems, looks happy still? I feel like it does but just want to make sure I’m not neglecting to see something

Added my maroon clownfish into the tank today only but maybe 3 hours ago. And he’s already loving on the BTA 😂
My clowns never paid any attention to my BTA so you are lucky, haha

Honestly feel pretty lucky that happened I was hyped, read so many things where people can’t get theirs to make that connection but this little maroon found love at first site lol

Little status update on the 25G Peninsula…

Clownfish is absolutely still in love with the anemone lol, almost feels like it rubs up on it a bit too much 😬anemone doesn’t seem bothered though. Been spot feeding once or twice a week with frozen food.. the clown seems to prefer pellets however. Here’s some photos below.. did my best but couldn’t get a good focus head on.

Oh and also my GHA infestation is dwindling away day after day, almost completely gone thankfully.. still have never tested anything on this tank other than temp and salinity.
