both look great! I was debating on the reef lx 330.7 or a custom planet aquarium euro w/ bottom perimeter bracing and seam guards. I think I'm just going to go with waterbox though. I rather not have to build a sump and set up plumming.

Since you have both though what would be ur recommendation?

I like the Planet Aquarium tank but I went with the bigger Waterbox for the same reason. I didn't want to do all the plumbing etc. when we added the bigger tank. So far, the Waterbox has been great. The stand comes completely assembled and both the stand and tank were crated very well. My only complaint is the area for mounting controller equipment isn't very good. Be very careful screwing to it or they will strip. Not really any "meat" for screws to bite. Even knowing that, I would do it again.

We had Waterbox deliver them to our house which helped a ton.

I wanted the 8 ft but didn't want to deal with getting it from the shipping center to the house and after setting the 7 ft up I am glad we went with it. It took 4 of us to set the tank on the stand. Plumbing in the pump and rollermat wasn't hard after getting into it.

It was simple once I sat down and thought on it and seeing the setup @Raptor72 did.

32 mm to 1-inch union
1-inch street elbow
1-inch pipe
1-inch to 1.25-inch reducer (I used 1.25-inch because I thought the tank had 40 mm overflow by mistake)
1.25-inch 90
1.25-inch street elbow
1.25-inch union (non-threaded side) sanded down until it fit the connection on the roller mat
I plumber the main overflow into one side and the secondary into the other side. Emergency still dumps into the back chamber which is also where my UV dumps into.
Used a 1.25 inch 45 degree elbow to help line them up better.
It could probably all be done with 1-inch.

Nice!! I am struggling when to use the washers and the silicone outings. Any thoughts on when you use what? The instructions are not super descriptive in this one area

Hitchiker that came in on the Tampa Bay live rock when I set the 330.7 up. Decided to keep him, so into the 60 gal he went. Lived in the sump for a year before I found him.

That’s so cool. That’s one of the things I missed about setting up my current tank with dry rock. I didn’t get any of the cool hitchhikers that come with live rock. The next tank is going to have some of that live rock that is shipped from Fl, and I’ll cross my fingers.

I got a few critters. Still have a non reef safe crab in my sump. It helped A LOT to cycle the tank. Never had an algea outbreak at all. I will never do another tank without real live rock.
