I'm just getting started with the build for my new Waterbox Marine X 90.3 purchased on CyberMonday. The pic is how Fedex delivered it to my house. Thankfully and shockingly there was no damage at all to the cabinet or tank.

So far I have only purchased the tank, Radion XR30 Gen 6 light and the RO Varios 4 return pump as I am watching for any deals that may come up before or after Christmas.

I'm still debating on the skimmer, as the space for it will be reduced in the sump after I modify to fit the RS Reefmat 500, so looking for a smaller skimmer footprint. That is why I am looking at the RO ESsence S-130. I've read that the RO skimmers with the DC pumps can use the Hydros controllers to drive this pump, but the cost is almost double. Not sure if its worth the cost to save the space for the power brick.

From my research so far, here is what I'm planning to go with:

1. Hydros X4/XP8 Pro Pack controller
2. VarioS 4 Return Pump
3. Red Sea Reefmat 500 ( after modifying the sump)
4. Reef Octopus ESsence S-130 skimmer
5. Nyos Torq 1.0 media reactor
6. IceCap 2K Gyre Wave P6ump with Hydros Wave Engine controllers
7. Various Hydros sensors and ATO
8. IceCap battery backup.
9. Two BRS 200W heaters with controller

Updates? I'm considering one to replace my RS reefer 170
Just got it set up a few days ago and in the cycling process right now. I absolutely love it. It went together very easy with no leaks and the cabinet is solid.

The sump modification for the reefmat was easy, as was plumbing it up.

It looks like they are on sale right now as well.

What mods you had to do to the sump for the reefmat?
I had to remove the filter sock baffles and the back chamber baffle where the drain pipes went into. It was pretty easy using the RedSea sump modification kit. Here's a pic after the baffles were removed.

Why did you go with the Reefmat instead of the ClariSea?
