It’s here!!!

No more daily hand dosing!

Nicely packed.

They changed the lid and plumbing. And took me a while to figure out and left an elbow PVC out. I wish that they have a manual that comes with it for newbies like me. Customer support is awesome and replied a few minutes at midnight. Lol!

NICE! This is the exact tank I want to get!
If you dont mine me asking, how much has the build been? (Minus the cost of the lights/fixture)

If my wife’s readjng this I got everything on sale and it’s less than $500

I’d say around 7k without the lights.

Perfect! I’ve given myself an 8k budget for my build (hopefully I can start in in May or June, depends on when we move)

Your question made me really wonder how much I’ve spent on my equipment without the liverock, livestock and mixing station.

I’ve started a spreadsheet during my planning stage (dream tank) and got close to $10k. I had an opportunity to save a lot of money by ordering a Waterbox instead.

I also attached the speadsheet for the actual tank cost maybe this will help other people looking at this set up. Most of the prices here are either discount from black friday and an endless search for coupons or I bought it preowned from the buy and sell page. Realizing now that I haven’t bought anything at MSRP. I’m giving me and my supportive wife a pat on the back for this.

;)

I’ve decided on going bare bottom with a SPS dominated tank

My 75 gallon tank is a mixed reef but seems like the only corals that does well in growth and color are the SPS. My LPS hates me they’re surviving for a year but not really getting any growth. So I’m just going to go with what does well in the tank.

I’m ordered a 1/4 thick black star board so I have something to break the fall if ever a rock decides to fall. Siliconed and pressed with books for 24 hrs

Filling with RODI was slow and painful.

Tonight will be aquascape night.

Hello I love your build so far! I have the 5526 and I love it so far. What kind of silicone did you use to glue down the starboard? Thank you.

I had a GE caulk laying around from one of my projects. As long at it says 100% silicone it should ok I believe.

Currently battling algea issues on half of my rocks but turning the T5s off and adding some cleanup crew seems to be working.

I’ve recently done an ICP test as well before hooking up my calcium reactor just so I have a baseline.

Apparently My calcium is almost at 500 ppm and my iodine does not exist.

I’m wondering if my reborn media will add some iodine.

I haven’t posted in a while and here’s the reason why.

I bought a bunch of SPS frags and mid January and then after that had the dreaded algea bloom.

I’m currently battling that by adding more CUC from 5 to now 30 plus a sea hare. Yes I have a sea hare in my tank just today. My nitrates and phosphate has always been close to 0 but coming from a 75 gallon and not adding more CUC eventually caught up.

I’ve been manually removing them but life happens and I’ve been on vacations. So it would just grow back.

I have been look at getting a water box 7226 for awhile now. It’s hard to find anyone that has them since they are so new. How do you like yours? Do you have any complaints about it? I am very close to pulling the trigger on one.

I have the 5526 and I love it! Glass overflow, plumbing, doors open on both sides, gate valve and nice sump. The construction of the cabinet was horrible with lack of directions lol. It’s a great tank thou.
