I just received my Nuvo 100 through BRS. The bottom of the stand has a piece of PVC board that just sits on top of the struts for the bottom of the tank. If I spill any water out of my sump it is going to drain right past this and soak my floor. Has anyone found a good way to waterproof the bottom of one of the Nuvo stands?

Thanks!

Not really familiar with Nuvo stands, but last time I built one I coated the bottom with a mildew, mold, and water proof boat paint.Used 3 coats and sealed the edges with silicone. Never had a single issue,in fact, it held water like a little pool if any spilled.

I'd imagine you could bypass the paint and cut a rubber mat to fit and silicone the edges for the same effect. Would e easy to pull up if you wanted as well.

I ended up getting some waterproof adhesive caulk and used a caulk gun to seal the perimeter of base of the tank to the PVC board that came with the tank. I made sure to weight the PVC board before I caulked so that the weight of my sump wouldn't cause the caulking to stretch or split and fail.

I did this about two years ago and it has held beautifully and worked perfectly ever since!
