Ok guys, so I’ve only kinda recently started to add corals to my mini 15 (got 2 clowns in there), and started with basic GSPs.

How ever I don’t know where to put the dang wavemaker.

This is my current placement, which feels wrong to me and counterintuitive as I’ve placed the corals in front of the rock hence I wanted Some flow near back of the rock.

Should it be on the black back wall, like under the return pump valve? So everything flows in the same direction?
Want to cater for the corals but also mange the deadspots in and behind the rock.

Thanks guys

Doesn’t have to be all in the same direction. Placement really depends on getting rid of dead zones and colliding flows are even good because the random flow pattern it creates is more natural for coral and fish. Personally I place my wavemakers as to have no big deadspots and so that it doesn’t blow away part of my sandbed. Don’t think too much about it :)

Maybe closer to the black panel so you can hide the cord. Typically on peninsula tanks it’s on the back wall so views from all sides are unobstructed

Ok, maybe I’ll give this a try!
This is what I thought originally but was thinking I’m missing the dead spots behind the rock.

Sprinkle in some food when you get the pump somewhere you like it and you should be able to see any dead spots

Got it, one wave maker is enough right for my tank size?

I might get the random flow nozzle

I’ve tried moving the wave maker in different places but the central tank part makes a hole over time, showing the bare glass. The setting on wave maker is at lowest. Whee else can I put it? On the front middle glass? As you can see in the pic, my tank is placed “sideways” with the rock in the middle facing out.

Looks like a peninsula style tank. Most designs I've seen place their pumps at the back wall and create a gyre wave movement. You should look up sample tanks on Youtube. A small gyre like hygger at the top middle of the back wall (where the filters are) would work too.
