So as alot of people on here know i havent ben having the best luck with acros recently

So today i was taking down my huge frag rack on the left side of the tank...were all of the acros used to be, and i sat my ora red planet on the sb, it has not shown polyp extension in a couple of weeks now,and parts of it are dieng, anyways i left it there until now, about 4 hours later, now the ora red planet is showing full polyp extension

Could my acros be getting burned by the lights or something? and thats why they are doing bad??? The flow is no differant from where it was to where it is right now.

I mean if there was polyp extension when there was not before because of less light i would think thats a positive. On another note, I dont think the move down would make that much of a difference since it was not that much.

Is this the tank where you recently increased the salinity?

It is the same tank that i raised the salinity from 1.021 to 1.023

Ill see, it would be great if the dead spots grew over!

dude....with how heavy your tank is stocked its possible were related..lol

if it is happy now leave it for a bit and see what happens, and even a salinity of 1.025 couldnt hurt IMO

I don't think the high light was causing problems-all my red planet frags and the MC are in very high light, right at the top of the tanks, and have massive PE. Instead I'd say it's flow-if a frag gets too little flow, they don't put out their PE's. The frag that's sitting about 3" directly front and centered on the MP10 has crazy PE going on.

The salinity shift could be part of it as well, though i haven't ever experimented with high or lower specific gravities to determine that one.

Ok, i think it might be the salinity then, hopefully my acros will turn around!
