I'm not a marine biologist so idk if this is the dumbest question ever asked....

I'm beating back turf GHA as best as possible.

I dose major/minor elements.... from Calc, to Mag, to Potassium, to Strontium, to Iodide, etc.

QUESTION: does dosing major and minor elements somehow trigger or activate the growth of GHA? I'm guessing it's not its main source of food like NO3/PO4 but does having NEW major/minor elements AID the growth of GHA?

What GoVols said.

Also wondering if/what you are feeding corals and fish?

Plants need water, nutrients, light.

Edit: Not a bad question at all, btw!

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
