Ok, I just completed my first coral trade. I was a little hesitant to do it, since it was very difficult to let go of one of my dear Jawbreaker mushroom. After going back and forth for one day and constantly looking at the Jawbreaker, making sure that she is the one to get traded, I finally decided, packed her up and met up with a reefer about 1.5 hours away.

The coral trade I did was my Jawbreaker for his frag of CB Rainbow Crush. When I first started this hobby many, many, many years ago, I was collecting many chalices. My favorite was the CB Flaming Bugatti. The multi colored rim was a joy to look at on a daily basis. Well, since I lost that chalice, I have always wanted to replace it with another rainbow.

And here is a somewhat quick video of my Jawbreaker and WWC Bounce mushroom collection.

I recommend viewing the video in 720p. You may need to change the YouTube viewing settings.

nice!!! some beautiful shrooms you have there. Are all the jawbreakers from the same family? I'm curious if you use any glue to mount those jawbreakers or if you let them attach naturally. Thanks

Rev, I know you got connections to get better looking Jawbreakers than the ugly's I've posted.

I've been collecting these Jawbreakers from many different reefers/vendors, so they have all come from different mothers. If there is anyway to check it's genealogy, I'm sure they all came from the same mother.

And for all mushrooms, there is no way to hold it down with glue. You need the shrooms foot to attach on its own.

I've been a little slow on updating my build thread.

Well, early Feb. one of my Kessil a350N's crapped out on me. Through the assistance of a great lfs, I was able to get (2) Kessil a360N E-series.

After comparing the a350N to the a360N, I have to say that I liked the a350's better. The a360's just don't push out as much blue's in my tank.

Here is a quick update on my chalices. The newest one that was added is the JKR Ultimate Warrior. I can't wait for the other colors to set in. On the other side of the frag, I see blue and green growing out.

So I've been visiting my lfs, Neptune Aquatics, and inside one of the owner's fish tanks, I saw a beautiful but odd looking fish. Some joke around that the fish came straight out from a Dr. Seuss book.

I began my journey in asking my fellow reefers where I can possibly attain a Borbonius Anthias. Luckily, one of the reefers directed me to a lfs and out of 4, I was able to scoop 2 up.

This Borbonius Anthias caught my eye because of the pink coloration on the body with splashes of gold all over. Here are a few photos I took at the lfs.

And here is the 2nd Borbonius Anthias that I purchased. I am really surprised that there are distinct differences in the coloration on these fish.

The second one's body coloration is more beige. There is a hue of pink, but not as much as the first one. Dark brown/green spots are also covering the body. The only reason why I picked this one as compared to the other 2, is because this one had a very healthy appetite.

After searching on YouTube for other Borbonius Anthias, I came across Aqua SD's. This one was posted back in 2013. I love how dark pink the body looks with brilliant yellow/gold splashes.

I am now on the hunt to find another Borbonius Anthias that has this coloration.

I picked up this beautiful juvenile Queen Angelfish last week from a local lfs in Hayward, CA.

This Queen Angelfish is about 2.5 inches. I know that she grows to over 18 inches when fully mature, but it'll take years before she reaches that size. So I figured that I can enjoy her for a few years until she outgrows my tank or eats up all my coral.

Wesley, I just watch the whole tread and all I can said is "Well Done". You did a awesome work in keeping all your progress on this tread cuz I'm about to start a 40 Gallons Saltwater tank and I got a lot of motivation from your success. I have freshwater fish tanks for about 20years but never try to make a saltwater tank. I''m reading a lot and getting the Do and Donts to minimize the mistakes.

Spyder813, thanks for reading through my whole thread and taking this crazy ride with me.

I sold off all my corals last December as well as all 14 of my clownfish. I'm hoping to purchase a Innovative Marine 25 lagoon and setting that up in the near future.

Happy reefing and good luck in your tank build.

Thanks Wesley, wow, you sold everything? What happens? I probably will sell my discus and Mbunas and just focus on building my first 40 G Saltwater tank.
