My water change setup is old school. Carrying buckets around, no fancy waterchange station for this guy.....yet ;)

I would take a picture of my semi simple water change setup but that would require cleaning up first :)
My RO/DI barrel is almost directly behind my reef in the laundry room. I have a smaller barrel that has a hole drilled in it. My RO/DI barrel has a valve that lines up with this hole so I just open it to get 10-15 gallons of water. I start mixing salt when I wake up, target feed all my corals then do the water change. I still use 5 gallon buckets to collect the water for a couple of reasons : A big reason for my weekly water changes is I siphon detritus (bare bottom tank). I reuse the water for other tanks. While I could simply send it outside or down the drain this works fine for me. Hauling 2-3 5 gallon buckets a week doesn't bother me and suits my current setup just fine.

My wet friend is my yellow scopas tang. A fish I wanted for many years.

Here was our wet friends, purple tang and a lightning maroon clownfish. Water change was mixing in 5 gallon buckets, nothing unique but did the same routine for many years.

Favorite fish has got to be my CBB.

One for salt, one for fresh. And I use a brute on a dolly to transfer the water. Looking back I very much regret getting the Aquatic Life Twist-In unit, I should have got a BRS RODI system... With the money I've spent on replacement filters I easily could have.

Water change station is pretty basic, 30 gallon brute, two 5 gallon jugs and a BRS RO/DI.

Here is a pic of my favorite wet friends! Ok, it's the only wet friends I have in this tank right now. But, I went against everything I ever believed in and named each and every one....all 10,560. Tring to remember the names at my age, well that's a story for another day. Oh if you spot one, well that happens to be my favorite! ;)
