What’s this white thing on my torch?

I have a soft white thing growing on the side of this torch. Any ideas? Is it something I need to address?

Looks like a sponge of some sort and the fact that you say its soft leads me to believe its a sponge.

Torch tentacles looks short and the flesh looks a little receded. Are they that short all the time?

Yeah this torch is hanging on. The tentacles get about 1.5" long at most. This coral has been in my tank for about a month. Can't seem to find his happy spot. Though this white thing might be bugging him.

Flow comes from both sides. Nero 3 50% random med, with the nero 5 child at 15% phase 90. torch at the top.
