I got this torch probably about 3 weeks ago and about a week ago it started to recede to where it is now. Not sure what’s going on. Parameters are as follows:
Salinity 1.025 Refractometer
Alk 8.1Hanna
Calcium 465 Salifert
Mag 1330 Salifert
Ph 8 API
Nitrate 5 Nyos
Phos 0.09 Hanna
Ammonia 0 API
Nitrite 0 API

If the parameters are correct, then i see nothing wrong there. What type of flow is it in and what type of lights are you using, what par are they under?

It was a medium to high flow area. I just moved it to a low flow area to see if that’s the problem. I have no clue what the PAR could be as I’ve yet to rent a meter and see

I would monitor to see if the flow was the issue as they can deal with higher flow, but they need to be acclimated to it. The reason I mentioned par was that they really don't like high par, though they can become accustom to higher par, they really like par in the 100 range.

Double check your salinity I just went though this with my own tank. My refractometer was off by 1.010 even though I recalibrated it constantly. All of my Euphyllia started to close just like that. I did test after test every normal. Finally I took my water in for a second opinion and it turns out my fresh salt that I was making was low and with every weekly water change I was dropping the salinity with my tank.
My tank got down to 1.017 I’ve spent the last few days getting it back up. I’m at 1.025 and everything is starting to open up again. *** I now have a milwaukee MA887 digital refractometer and I breath a lot easier and so do my corals.
