It’s been like this for a few days now and I’m not sure what’s wrong as nothing in the water has changed.

Hard to tell in blue light, but if there's some minor extension and color then it's likely just going through a phase. If you recently changed pump location or flow that could do it. Or they can just get a bit moody sometimes. Sometimes it means they'll split soon, other times they're just going to take a walk and others just because. Maybe a bit agitated by a fish. Give it a week or two, monitor it. They are surprisingly self sufficient. Plus the other nems look good which is a good sign for water quality.

How long has it been in the tank?
If it’s been around for a while, not unusual at all.
They will shrink to expel wastes from time to time.

About 3-4 weeks

Mine are 5 years old and from time to time, do that for a few days. I’m thinking it’s a expel process, but, can’t prove that.

If you are feeding, then stop until he returns to extended.

I’ve not directly fed my nem in 5 years.

Not really sure why that such a common process and can prove fatal. IMG_0311.jpeg
