What’s wrong with my green chromis??

My chromis looks like this last night but he still eats and acts normal

if im not mistaken, mouth appears to be stuck open. If that is the case, it may likely be Lockjaw seems a bit of a catchall term for a fish that either cannot open or close the mouth. Rarely does a fish get tetanus which is what we usually think of with the term lockjaw but if that's the case, there is nothing to be done to make it open and close. Eventually bacteria gradually paralyzes all the muscles. The concern is fish need to open and close their mouths in order to pass water through their gills and if they stopped doing that, it will suffocate to death.
