Yes. My phosphates are 4 so in the right area. I thought it was getting to much light brought it down but got much worse so put it back on top. I just did a water change...

I believe this is a monti and assure calcium not below 400, phosphates not elevated, not too much flow and flight

30 gallon, on top of rocks now, other than food not dosing anything. The coral has been in there for over 3 weeks got a hammer at the time is thriving. What is a full tank? New so don't understand what you mean. I have an Aussie elegance, Hammer and a few small starter corals. Lighting is at 55 on its highest led. They get light 8 hours of the day on auto.

You're correct on your assumptions, details and full tank photo are what I was asking for!
If he's dead center under the light it might be too much direct light. (Others can chime in)
I know you said you turned it down, but doing so may have also put it out of its preferred par. I've moved a coral a couple inches to one side or the other and they've taken off due to incorrect par.
