Hi, I have had several anemones (BTA) and each time the anemone ends up shrinking then dieing.

This one seemed happy until 2 weeks ago, then it started moving around. I have been away a few days and come back to it like this.

Any recommendations of what I can do? Parameters are all OK and after the last anemone I have been dosing all-in-one to keep the pKH up as that was a bit low.

Is it a goner or can I save it?

Why is there so much sand on your rocks and that frag in the background? Corals dont usually like sand on them this could be part of the issue. Do you have parameters? If so it may help to list them and what test kits you are using to get them.

Please list your parameters, lighting and anything else you do or dose. It looks bleached to me and is reaching for light so there's something really off with your system.

Agreed. Parameters would be helpful! Can you also share more about the age of your tank and light settings?

Sorry for the delay in updating, so I rechecked all my parameters and attached them. Looking like the dKh is a bit low (but acceptable?) and the nitrates are higher than I want so going to do a water change.

I have AI hydra 32 lights with the schedule attached and the tank is 2.5 years old.

The anemone was higher in the tank but has moved to the lower part of the tank away from the light, are you sure it is starved of light?

Yes, it is starved of light.
Try upping the light, but the nem is not going to recover quickly if it even lives?

  • 2 deep red LED; 25%

  • 2 moonlight LED.

Some BTA for what ever reason don't do well under AI Hydra. Try increasing the intensity and shifting from less blue to more white or increasing red lighting if possible.

Yup, it needs more light. Follow KrisReef's suggestion (but do it gradually). Alkalinity is good, 7-9 is a decent range for corals.

Anemones like white light over blues in my Experience I agree with Kris
