What are these anemone?

I found them 3 weeks back in a tide pool. The local authorities allowed me to since I often try to aquaculture wild caught sea creatures and I made prove of my progress.


Anyways, I don’t think these are Aiptasia since they are not fully translucent. (It’s body for the most part).

I was gonna say the same. AptasiaX for the big ones. Peppermint shrimp for the smaller ones.

That’s aptasia for sure! If there are no fish in the tank, keep them! You also need to treat the water for parasites because the ocean is filled with them! :)

Yes I did. They are splitting (which isn't a caused by stress). However, I am worried if they will be a pest as they look nice in my opinion. Also, are they vulnerable to water parameter like other anemones?

Aptasia. They have been known to completely take over tanks. It's best to get rid of them.

Thanks for the replies! Since they are from the wild, I would rather just release them back (including their clones I suppose).

Never have I too! That's what makes me curious if it could be a less invasive aiptasia.

I have. We had some in our tank like that. Of course, there are zillions of anemone species out there and there are quite a few species in the genera Aiptasia. Nonetheless, I consider all of them a pest. They will take over as fast as GSP and Xenia. Only difference is they have a nasty sting and can kill nice corals.

I hunt those things down like a madman and do whatever I can to stop any spread immediately. You won’t find them very nice once there’s a million stinging everything in its path. I absolutely hate any strain of Aptasia!!
