@vetteguy53081 @Jay Hemdal

So this is my Saddle-back puffer. I dropped a submersible pump into my tank for additional flow after one of my Nero 5s spit the bit. The grill cover fell off of the inlet. He got sucked in in to the foam sleeve but not into the pump. He was likely there for an hour.

I got him out and he swam wildly throughout the tank. I put him in a low flow tank, which is where I filmed him. What injuries might this guy have suffered? I understand that this will be a wait and see situation.

Appreciating feedback from all members.

Thank you,
Dom

I stepped out for an appointment and can’t open video
Is fish breathing normal or elevated?
Any visible bruising with hemorrhaging?

Looks like approx 78bpm breathing rate in the video. Fish is laying on its side against a rock formation

No visible signs of trauma.

Poor guy

Since the post, there appears to be improvement. In the video, he was on his side and had very shallow breathing.

But his fins have become active in a familiar way, and he has attached himself to the underside of a hammer coral.

There are no signs of injury, no bruising or hemorrhaging.

Cautious optimism?

I don't know what the normal respiration rate is for a Saddleback. A quick search states 70-120.

70-90 would be about right and glad to hear of change
You can observe for improvement and lower light intensity or add ruby rally pro to tank or neoplex to erase chance of infection but if no bruising, then observe

Internal damage is really tough to judge. I would move the fish off of those corals and into a acclimation chamber or isolation box if you can, and then dim the lights for overnight...see how it looks in the morning.
