Hydnophora coral. I have both types and love them. Lights have not turned on yet so they aren't fluffy.

Love the column growth but they don't have much color. (unless they died and show there beautiful blue skeleton)
Fun fact: they are a leather coral!

Wait a minute.... you have a LIVE specimen of one of those!?! How on earth did you get that, we need a photo of when it's established

There are a few reefers here with some.
I've had this for some time. I broke this off by accident trying to get to some GHA.
The colony is to the left above the large chalice. And it holds it's own against it.

Here it is before I broke it. 20220702_105323.jpg

I assume you're from falmouth mass?
If you ever come down to CT, I have a few on frag plugs growing out.

I am wondering, what are some unique looking coral you love, but you don't see many people talking about? Curious to know what everyone says!
Hydnophora. It has a unique skeletal structure. Understandably they aren't too popular because of their sweepers.

Even then polyps are unique.

I really like my psammacora. It’s kinda hard to find in my area and don’t read much about them.
I 100% agree with the psammacora. I have about 10 colonies. Tidal Gardens has a variety of aquaculture frags and that’s where I got most of mine (just had an R2R sale last weekend and may be some leftovers still for sale). They are really easy to care for, not too aggressive, not too expensive and look great!
