What beginner corals should I get?

Zoas are really beginner friendly , any leather coral is also easy ask your LFS where there soft coral is and pick from them

Leathers, mushrooms, zoas, duncans, candy canes, depends on what you're looking for in particular. Personally, I'm a fan of soft corals, so I'd start with some of those.

palys, xenia, and anthelia are very beginner friendly but can spread quickly and take over a tank if not careful.

Zoas, shrooms, leathers, duncans, plating montis are good starting corals IMO.

I agree with soft corals. This tank was mostly soft corals with a few lps.

Definitely start with soft corals like zoas, leathers (Kenya tree), mushrooms, green star polyps. Then I would move into some easier LPS like acans (now micromussa) and frogspawn/hammers.

I've only been able to keep certain species of zoas :downcast-face-with-sweat:. Leathers thrive though.
