I have a Canon XSi DSLR that I'm currently using, but I really want something that can shoot video. I've thought about upgrading to a Canon with HD video capabilities (like the T2i), but I wanted to see what others are using to shoot great videos.

I recently purchased a Canon 7D but I don't have a Macro lens yet. I have the kit lens that cam with it and also purchased a 70-200mm f2.8 USM for it since I like to shoot baseball and football. I think I'll ultimately buy the 100mm macro.

I haven't messed with the video much yet but 1080P is awesome. My Canon camcorder shoots 1080p when tethered but even watching 720p on my plasma is amazing.

I upgraded to a 1ds mk iii since I have to start shooting for a magazine. For vid I would go with your original, but if you have the cash and you shoot more then one game a season I highly recommend a 7D.

I've got a 30d now that doesn't do video :(

I'm trying to work a 5d in the budget. That's a sexy body.

I have a T2i rebel...it's the smaller rebel/plastic body compared to the 7d and 30-40d etc, but for $700 it does hd video, along with having a better processor & live view for tripod shots. Pretty much the equiv. to the outdated 40-50d's I understand (not my opinion, but that of other phot. experts). It cannot do quite as many fps as the better bodies, but still shoots at a higher iso without noise, and is not full frame.

I also use a Canon 30D with the 100mm Macro. It's amazing how quickly it has been overshadowed by all the newer Canon camera bodies with the huge image sensors...heck, even the newer Rebels have a much larger sensor than the 30D. Oh well, it's more camera than I know how to use anyway :) For video, I use a Canon HV30.

Olympus SP-590 UZ. Love this camera, its all about the macro for me. These cameras can take a beating and still work great. All you need is AA batteries for this camera, so its not an issue if you're out hiking somewhere and run out of batteries. I can get about 800 shots with one set of batteries.

A couple of my friends have the more expensive manual option Canon, but they have a harder time getting clean macro shots. Canon's may be better all around cameras, but for the shots I do I think Olympus works really well. It only set me back $290.

I shoot with a Canon T1i and either the stock 18-55mm IS lens with a $13.00 macro filter kit. Or I shoot with the T1i body and the Canon f/2.8 L 70-200mm IS with a canon Macro AF ring adapter.

Here's a little photographic evidence...

Hope you enjoy! The T1i Rocks. And remember it's all in the Lens!
