What do I do?

I have 2x400 SE and 2x250 HQI, I want to run one over my tank.

Either a 400 SE 10K and 20K side by side.
or 250 DE 10K and 14K side by side.

I get a bit less par from the 250s and 300 watts less also? the tank is only 8" deep 4'x4' the lights will be on a mover.
What should I do?

I would go with the 250s. I have not looked at the amps drawn by each but as far as watts 3 250s would be a lot more output for the same wattage as 2 400s. (well almost the same)
