Hello;
One of my torch got damaged today
It was find yesterday..... this morning I released 3 pyramid butterfly into the tank. I turned around for a bit. When j turned back ... one of the heads of this torch completely torn out. I did not see which fish was responsible for it but I am pretty sure it was one of the butterfly.
My question is ... for the torch that got damaged ... is there a potential for that one head to recover or should I cut thay head off completely ?
Secondly, I was told that pyramid butterfly is reef safe ... but now this incident happened ... should I take all of them out?
Thanks for your time

They may nip at soft corals but torch packs a punch so if he made a tasting error, likely will not repeat.

I cant see the pic, but any damage to torches is problematic.

Cant see any pic but if the heads torn out it’s gone.
Could just be an error, it does happen.
I had a Sailfin wack a hammer branch completely, but has not touched anything for a year now.

I hope it is a one time thing like you said. Thanks for answering my question quickly. Weird I uploaded the video and pic twice and you still having issue seeing it.

Not unusual for me not to see pics.
It’s like video, if not posted via YouTube, some of us can’t see it.
Iam sure others can see the pics and maybe they could chime in.
Iam glad I gave my Sailfin another chance, was preparing to remove him as I have 100’s of hammers, frogspawn heads and say 30 heads of torch.
Everyone back to normal now.
Why he did that after being in tank for 2 years is beyond me but I guess anything can happen in a glass box.
Good luck.
