Might sound like a dumb question but why do high net worth clients need reverse mortgage?

They use it to grow wealth. Reverse mortgages now days are better suited for the rich than they are the destitute. Reverse line of credit is the best financial product using your home that exists. Many invest their equity to maximize estate values, some use the credit line instead of their investments to avoid realizing losses (like we are seeing right now) which shortens the lifespan and value of their "portfolio" that they then pay back in the bull market, others get reverse line of credit as a safety net they never use but have it just in case. It doesn't go away or turn to a 10 year payback after 3,5,7 years like a home equity line of credit nor can we call it due or freeze it due to the economy. It also grows by 4% each year. If you ever were theoretically upside down you could draw it all out before you die (your 500k credit line grew to 1,000,000 and the house is now only worth 750k let's say. Your kids could buy the house if they wanted or walk away and let the FHA eat it without liability), your kids get more money than the house is worth now, and everyone is happy. Financial advisors send clients to me frequently because they both benefit

Many reasons lol. Read up here if you're interested in more I started a thread about it

Very good information 3FordFamily
I try!

Although I primarily deal with people with home values of 2-6 million dollars I can help others as well. My job is fantastic I am a finance guy with an MBA and I make business cases to people each day that put them in a better situation and everyone wins. It's not easy but I like flexing my finance experience and education haha!

If anyone ever has specific questions feel free to pm me. Time is free for you guys. Won't charge a dime. I love this community

I've also been in the mortgage industry awhile and can advise people on most any type of mortgage as well. I am willing to help anyone here.

I'm in international R&D and BD. We go into countries that are on our radar for new sales and establish a research presence there at the top universities and research labs. That's a long way of saying I spend too much time on airplanes.

Thank God I am RETIRED. This is my best job and I am really great at it. I did waste 40 years as a commercial construction electrician forman in Manhattan and did dome interesting jobs like I ran Penthouse Magazines new building and one of Playboy's new offices and built the New York Playboy Club where I would have worked for free. But they insisted on paying me. I also worked on the World Trade Center construction and re built the Plaza Hotel along with many other projects that I am glad I forgot. I also installed the fire alarm system in the Empire State Building and used to eat my lunch at the base of the antenna. Did I mention retirement is the best job?
This is me hanging off the top of the Plaza Hotel. That is snow covered Central Park below. I used two of those light fixtures in my reef for a few years. The lower picture I am CAD welding on a New York City residential garbage incinerator. The aroma was breath taking
