Get you and 11 of your friends together once a month/bi-monthly/weekly and play Bunko! It is loads of fun. If you do it once a month you will only have guests at your house once a year, but you get to have fun 12 times a year! Now what you will do with the other 353 days...I don't know...lol...when I get bored, I clean. (I know, that's boring too)

Volunteering can be fun as well as work. I was a Cub/Webelo/Boy Scout leader and involved at the District and Council level as well for four years in my younger days. Before I knew it I was going to meetings of some kind every night of the week. Organizations that work with young people never have enough volunteers and then tend to burn out the ones they get by over scheduling. Some of my best memories are camping with the scouts and cooking over an open fire. The Boy Scout organization provided all the training I needed since I had never done any of the things we did before.

I had a close friend many years ago that was involved with the Big Brother/Big Sister and found it very rewarding. They assigned him to a young man and set up activities (ball games etc.) for them to do together. If I remember correctly he didn't even have to pay for tickets, just spend time with and be a positive influence to a young person that didn't have it at home.

Our church youth group went on a field trip to hand out sandwiches to homeless and others that needed something to eat. I was a little apprehensive about taking eight young teenage girls to a bad part of town to hand out sandwiches in an alley. There were no boys in the youth group at the time to back me up if there was trouble. I was pleasantly surprised at how polite and courteous the men were that lined up for their sandwiches. Some homeless are mentally disturbed and could be dangerous but the ones we met that day were very kind and it was a good experience for all of us to help them.

Honestly I would love to trade a few days of boredom and you can have the crazy that it my normal day...;)

Bored huh? I like the charity idea. If you have so much spare time, go find a charity. Every town has some sort of charity, even if it is doing photography for a local non-profit and doing some graphic design for them since you are good with this stuff...

If you want to bend the norm, find something you have never done and try it. Try rock climbing, different fishing, camping, hiking, dig a hole and plant a tree, skydiving, learn to fly a plane, etc... There are so many things that are different and out of the norm that you could never be bored. You just need to be willing to think out of the box a little.

Now I do have the 100% solution to the "I have too much spare time and am bored" dilemma. Get married and have a kid. Free time then becomes a blessing that happens only for short periods of time and then most of the time you have other stuff that must get done ;) Not saying its a bad thing, Just that I can tell you with a 7 year old and a 10 month old I have forgotten what free time and boredom feels like...

By the way if you want some charity work, I have some wedding photos that are still in need of some editing that I haven't had a chance to get to... ;)

I can play quite a few! Sax, trumpet, trombone, French horn, etc. A lot of the brass ones I can play(considering that around 7 of them have the same finger placements as a trumpet.)

I gave music up, a lot of things got in my way and I justmstopped playing, I sold all my instruments that I had, and gave up. Never have I ever played another instrument since I sold mine.

Go back to school? Learn a new language? Community colleges usually offer evening non-credit classes for cooking/crafts/programming/dancing etc. Also a great way to meet new people.
