You think this is a molt or death? He was super healthy found it face down in sand.
Also cleaner was picking at him.

as said above, if it's hollow it's a molt. . . can also do the old smell test

In my experience mine always got lighter before they molted.

Mine rarely molted so I’m not sure it only molted once in like 8 months

Haha yeah, not my favorite test. . . have had to conduct it on a snail or two. . . based on the smell they were definitely dead.
