What does this number above the Showcase mean?

Almost at the top of the screen from left to right you have Home, Forums, Showcase, Members etc. Above the Showcase I have a number. What does this mean? Thanks. :)

I was wondering the same. It lures you to click it. I keep clicking it subconsciously then I'm like wait what did I just do? Lol

Yeah, I clicked on it too and then it just brings up a list of Sponsors I'm assuming.

It's the amount of new items that have been added and not viewed by you.
anything in bold letter is something you have NOT looked at yet.
