Any input is appreciated

what all do you have in equipment already? i assume since your looking at stirrers then you are keeping sps. if it was me, i spend 50$ on a gfo reactor since i dont' have one but thats just me.

Yes Im starting to get into sps

Equipment
Tunze skimmer
Media rack with chemipure elite and Purigen

But don't you need a sump for a reactor ?since I have an all in one tank I couldn't.

You don't need a sump to hook up a reactor. You just need to hook up a pump or powerhead to the reactors supply line with some flexible tubing and then run some more flexible tubing on the reactor's outlet back into the tank. It might not look that pretty to have it hanging on the back of the DT, but it's just as functional.

sumps just help hide the equipment and hoses. my first 55 gallon tank was a all in one tank with heaters and HOB skimmer on the DT

Hey BigFeesh - Why not give Avast a call, tell them your setup, what you are looking for, and see what they can do for you!!

Okay I this is what I'm going to do!

If it's one of the AIO tanks with the compartments in the back, you could conceal it a bit and hang it on the back of the tank. Reactors like the TLF Phosban reactor use 1/2" barbed fitting and can be powered by something like a maxijet. THey also have a plastic bracket to hang on the back of a tank and a thumb screw to make sure it's level.

In my opinion, a Kalk reactor is probably not necessary for a 29G nano tank. Dosing two-part is easy and economical, with no need to fiddle around with a reactor and no chance of accidental overdose.

I would consider applying that credit towards a Vortech MP-10. Your SPS will certainly appreciate the extra flow.

I apologize, but I thought you were talking about a reactor for GFO & Carbon, not a kalk reactor (I looked at Greg0385s post). Most kalk reactors can still be hung on back, but I agree with Dr Trey that you're probably better off with dosing 2 part for a 29 gallon. The reactor for GFO is a good suggestion though. Keeping low phosphates is a must for good coloration & growth in your SPS, and putting it in a chamber on your AIO isn't as efficient as running it through a reactor. Just my $.02

Thanks ! I think I'm going with the gfo/ media reactor
And I would do an mp10 but can't buy it through avast
