We have a 90 gal reef tank. We have 2 clowns with 2 cleaner shrimp in it, what other fish would be a good addition to our tank? I would like to add a Banggai Cardinalfish and a pajama Cardinalfish, but was told that they don't play together well. Any other fish I could think about that would be good with my clowns. Thanks

I have 2 clowns, 1 yellow tang, 1 kole tang, 3 green chromis, 1 cleaner wrasse, 1 one-spot foxface, and 1 starry-eyed blenny. Also have a long spine urchin, tuxedo urchin, a fire shrimp, 3 peppermint shrimp, and dozens of snails and crabs. All are thriving.

I vote lots of fairy wrasses, a small school of firefish, small school of chromis, maybe some anthias if you are up for feeding a lot, bristletooth tangs. I'd love to get a white tail tang. Basically, peruse Diver's Den and when you see an awesome fish, jump on it. The swissguard basslet looks so cool. I'm really digging the Genicanthus(?) angels. Midas blenny or maybe canary blenny would be cool. One of the Helichoeres or maybe the Macropharyngodon wrasses. The list is never ending, sort of.

I should add, I think it comes down to the amount of work you want to spend caring for your fish. I also forgot dragonet's. Love those fish. I've got a scooter in my 29 gal and just the greatest fish ever.

Thanks so much for all the good responses, really appreciate it. Im going to get the 2 cards next, and then from there, we shall see. Im only looking at having between 6 to 8 fish. Does the cleaner wrasse work together with the 2 cleaner shrimp or do I even need to worry about it. Ill be researching all the fish that have been recommended. Thanks once again.

My cleaner shrimp deal with the detritus and other foods on the sand bed while the wrasse cleans my fish, rocks, etc. They're all happy together.

How do you guys feel about hippo tangs? Do they play well with the fish im thinking about ? good or bad idea ? Also, I was researching firefish, do they play well with others? I am going to have 2 clowns and the cardinals that I have asked about. Right now I feed every other day, will I have to increase that with more fish. Thanks for all answers.

The problem with hepatus tangs is they grow to considerable size.
If considering a tang for a 90 gallon I would look at the bristletooth or other smaller varieties.

Tomini, mimic, kole, etc.

Firefish are very peaceful. I keep 3 in a 29 gal. I definitely agree with jdl513. Stay away from large tangs. If you get firefish and wrasses, you will need to feed everyday. I feed twice a day and that keeps everyone fat and happy. Honestly, you should feed a minimum of once a day. My nitrates stay around 2 ppm because I do two 5 gal water changes a week and have a refugium I should harvest from biweekly.
