Thats a pineapple sponge, which is completely harmless. Wouldn't have done anything. What happened is polyp bailout, which happens due to stress from bad water parameters or too high flow, light, flipping over or any physical problem. It is basically a corals last resort, there are some reports of it recovering by putting the detached polyp in a basket and letting it regrow but it's unlikely.

The head totally detached? See below by gongorian?
Need a lot more info here, how old is your tank, how long have you had the frogspawn, flow and par. What are your complete parameters?
