Hi everyone,

So I have a primarily sps tank. It has been healthy for the over 3 years.
Lately some of the sps have been getting stn while others have been going bonkers and growing like I have never seen before.
As far as I can tell the parameters haven’t really changed. But something must be going on.

Here is an example…. At about the same PAR I have a vivid confetti, Walt Disney, red Robin and picachu. The Red Robin and confetti are growing like I and the other two have stn.

I do a regular water change of about 20% weekly.

parameters :

Salt 34.5
PH 8.4
Temp 78-80
KH 8.4
Ca 450
Mg around 1400
Phosphate.02
TDS on the water maker- 0.0

Why might some sps be struggling while others are thriving?

Also I’m running a Radion G4 Pro on AB+ for about 13 hours. Same schedule I have had for years.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Also. I’m sure I didn’t have any bugs. I have looked and looked.

Tim Curry was awesome as Darkness.

Whats nitrate at? Wonky nitrate is a big cause of STN, and 20% weekly water changes in a 3yr old tank doesn't exactly indicate nutrient stability.

In your opinion, high or low nitrates? I can provoke stn for some species if the nitrate and with this the more important ammonia drops below a range of 2-5.
However, pictures and params would help alot.
